Smoked Turkey Breast

Post by Mistress »

Happy Thanksgiving fellow fish heads!
Simple recipe for simple dinner.

(2) 6-8 # frozen breast

Defrost and set in pan with just enough water to cover the bottom. I use steel skewers to keep them upright.
Smoke at 250 degrees for 3-4 hours with hickory or your preferred wood. I use the frozen breasts because they are pre-brined and have a pop up indicator. Just that simple, the hardest part is keeping guests away while you are carving. I prefer a 14” blade as a deterrent
Hope to see you on the pond before it locks up for winter!
Pat

Wow great setup!!! Glad to hear your frostbiting!!!

Saftey In numbers and I work with a few fleet members who like to fish all winter to launch on common days for redundancy in a boat. If you like I can pm you my number so we can add you to the list of folks like Homewrecker, Country Angler, Controlled Caos, Fathead, Thorny, Crazy Ivan, and more that try to fish in winter and who will join in the fun until lockup- if it happens;)

I try never to launch past Dec without a sister boat on the lake. I’ll let you know days before I plan to fish to try to get groups out to make it safe as possible:)

Fish on!

Hey Matt,
Would love to have another boat or 2 around! When I was a little younger and dumber didn’t bother me so much. Did I ever tell you guys about getting stuck on the Sandbar by myself on a weekday during the summer?
Actually thinking I might fish Sat if North blow is under 15 max gusts. My intel says the salmon are pretty active with 3 shorts to 1 keeper size or better ratio, bigger fish haven’t shown yet. I personally haven’t been out since the Shootout but my source is very reliable.
Holler and we can see what we can do!
