Inspired by Chessieman's success, I headed to FV this morning and launched my kayak from the VT side. It's a couple miles of paddling to get to the fish zone. Next time I might drive the car an extra 30 minutes around to the NY side to save the paddling for trolling. Well... pedaling, actually. I saw a couple boats out there-- didn't get around to saying hi up close. HI!
I concentrated on a pretty small area and brought 5 small salmon to the kayak, and one laker. I kept one salmon about 17", that was hooked pretty bad-- I'm glad I did because it turned out to be the biggest one!
I ran a pink/pearl C.I. spoon about 25' down with a snap weight. That caught 4 small salmon.
Since I wanted to make tight turns over a small area, my other line ran near the surface-- a 6-8' diving purple Shad Rap. It caught one small salmon and a laker.
I lost a few fish, too.
I didn't see any bird activity. The size of the fish wasn't impressive, but they're the first salmon I've caught since spring, so I was thrilled. Most of them jumped, and all were beautiful. My previous three outings produced only lakers.

Good to see you out there… we couldn’t believe how far out you were without a motor!! You earned your fish.
Thanks for the report.

Nice to see a troutcrazy report again, its been a while! Thats a lot of coldwater fish for a nonmotorized boat, well done.
I do not exaggerate when I talk about fishing - I underestimate, like I say "just one more cast honey, then I'll come home" !

Nice report. Glad the salmons cooperated by chasing your lures.
Saturday you pedaled more than most of us walked during the day

Re: 11/26 kayak report
Thanks for the feedback, guys. It's really encouraging.
Haha after seeing big numbers from boats, I start to think "how come I only caught 5?"
Here's an update, more of the same. I caught 4 silvers on Sunday. Today I caught 2 silvers, one laker, and a brown!
Yippee! Mission accomplished!
I hope to get out again and figure out how to get my salmon numbers up.
