New lake record Salmon?
Got word yesterday that a 14.75lb 30” salmon was caught in Lake Champlain…. If true, it is sure to be a new lake and state record buy almost a pound!!!
Congrats to the lucky fisherman. Sounds like it was caught in a charter out of NY.
Reposting pic from social media so ya can see it..
Fish on!!

Not sure how that works for Lake Champlain. Lake record yes, but what part of the lake was it caught in Vermont or NYS. NYS record for Atlantic Salmon is 24lb from Lake Ontario.

Re: New lake record Salmon?
Vermont recognizes the entire lake for state record fish due to the reciprocity of licenses of NY and Vt. This comes up often with the Master Angler program. If a fish is caught on the NY side it can be entered in the MA program for Vt same as a record fish. It would be up to the angler to enter it and likely a biologist to verify for a state record. That is an amazing salmon! Looks like Willsboro point in the background.
