Westport Thursday August 11th

Post by Captain Kirk jr. »

Got a late start out of Westport about 8 a.m. Thursday. Trolled north towards split rock with no success at 70' and 65'. Decided to not assume water temp at 70 so put on fish hawk to my surprise 50' was the magic depth!! Shortly after readjusting riggers we had our first silver of the day just north east of Diamond island 23" healthy no marks. Made our way to town farm and lost a very active silver but put on a great acrobatic show for us before getting crossed in the one lead core out 150'! From town farm we decided to get moving as there was dark skies coming our way. Finished with 2 landed silvers and 2 lake trout. On board with a friend and his two nephews all of which first time catching lake trout and salmon!

That first pic looks to be a steelhead, but still a good day you had. Congratulations on the silver
