Port Henry Tuesday
Port Henry Tuesday
Launched around 8:30 under Crown Point bridge. Surprisingly we were the only boat there. Cool and breezy but lake was calm. Setup up in front of Port Henry launch and headed South into Bullwaga Bay. First time I have fished the Bay. Set up in 20ft to 30 ft with two riggers and two in line plainers. Riggers down 12 and 18 with stick baits and spoons. Rapala and Mooselook in silver and blue and purple and black. Not familiar with the names but they look nice. Plainers set back 100 ft with splitshots 8 ft in front. One had Michigan stinger other with Yozuri pin minow. Two other boats in South end of Bay closer to shore. Turned North and hugged closer to shore. Not marking fish and having to clean line often we picked up and ran North of Henry to deeper water. Reset everything in 40 to 50 ft again with stick baits and speedy shiners. Wind picked up so headed back towards Bridge. Shortly after turning Port rigger fires down 30 ft. Landed nice 7 lb Laker. Finally got the skunk off the new Pontoon boat. Wind increasing and temp falling we called it a day. Very pleased with the Pontoon especially with the WINDBREAK enclosure. Made the day very nice. Hope to be back in 2 to 3 weeks.
To fish or not to fish ??

Re: Port Henry Tuesday
I'll tell you what, a pontoon is about as good as it gets in calm winds. "Detritus" was our old pontoon we had before we got the Country Angler. Only reason we got rid of it was it was it was too slow, and there was no enclosure.
Nice Laker. Looks like a prime candidate for the smoker. If you've never tried a brine and hickory smoke of one of those, you really should. If everybody did, there wouldn't be any more complaining of too many Lakers in the lake.
Nice job.
