Beautiful fish boys! Fished Tuesday afternoon out of port henery was a bit windy with substantial debris as expected. One 16" silver 15' down on rigger sausage gravey. Water temp 46°.

I realize that sticks don't seem to be working as well as spoons. But......what are the actual names and colors of these pins I should have......

Actual "Pins Minnows" are made by Yozuri. They have several different colors, of course. I have some of those but I do just as well with small Rapala or BPS (Bass Pro) sticks. I tend of try some greens and some blues to see what color they are favoring that day, then also play with jointed vs non-jointed. My first silver of the year was caught on a blue, jointed BPS stick bait. I was alone, so couldn't try too many different colors. My favorite green stick never had a hit. Rainbow trout, brown trout and brook trout are also some of my favorite colors this time of year. HJ06, HJ08, F7 and F9 are the Rapala sizes I tend to use. I also use Challengers some.

Funny you say that, I have a gold Matzuo I refer to as my $2 Special that’s caught some great fish. Love that cheap lure.

Also, the Fishy1 rainbow kroc favorite found another pig the other night in the inland sea. Same length as the start of this thread, 1/2 lb fatter, 5lb 7oz. Fish really seem to be turning on, good luck guys!

My son has caught his 2 biggest pike on one of those 2" Matzuo's .... while salmon fishing of course. No action on it last night, though. I caught 1 salmon while solo on 1 color of lead with a PPE Honeybee. I then picked up my son and it was dead the rest of the night. Tried many different sticks and spoons, long lines, leadcore, downrigger, didn't matter. Lost a small one on a Blue Moon Crazy Ivan and that was it. We even set up for pike and trolled around the marina and creek outlet. Still no luck. Warmest water we fished was right around 45deg. Very little boat traffic for a beautiful afternoon.

We only fished Keeler's. Might be time to do some exploring.

Great Reply Matt!) I've j.g ad good luck with Yozuri 3" pin/pink with spots(believe Rainbow Trout?) It was actually you who turned me on to that lure in a post a year or so ago
I was wondering if you find the stick baits produce at all depths, or in the top 10' or so of H²O? Also, what style do you find most effective, i.e. deep runner, surface, etc.

Thanks! Saw some surface activity and chased a school gorging on bait. Boated 10 15”-17” shakers, and then this outlier, in an hour. Wild evening. Went back up last night and struck out. I guess they left!

My biggest silver to date was picked up on a rainbow trout pins minnow, 2 1/2 inch, 5 feet down in Bulwagga Bay. 9 pounds even. Couldn’t believe those tiny hooks didn’t pull out.
