Music in the boat while trolling
Hey all,
There doesn't seem to be a way to post a survey in here, so I'll just ask. Do you listen to music in the boat while trolling? In particular, I'm wondering if it spooks the fish - particularly in the early season when the fish are shallower.
Thanks!

Re: Music in the boat while trolling
I have a bluetooth speaker that I always bring that gives the crew a chance to play any music they like off their phones... I absolutely don't think it hurts the bite at all... Conversly we always say " this is a good fish catchin song" when specifics tunes play, and they work!
IE: "sharp dressed man" from ZZtop is always worth a silver or 2... Maybe its the frequency vibe?
Great question!

Good to know - thanks. "Lynyrd Skynyrd - That Smell" seems to be the theme song of this year so far.Reelax wrote:I have a bluetooth speaker that I always bring that gives the crew a chance to play any music they like off their phones... I don't think they like country music....
Re: Music in the boat while trolling
Unless its the old time stuff like WDEV on Sat morning, or the acoustic stuff on the Point, 104.5, on Sun. Nothing like listening to the ball game while fishing though.ThreeBuoys wrote:I don't think they like country music....

I think a little more soft folksy stuff brings them in a little closer. How about dancing now that we are going down this path? I caught one one of my best salmon dancing with my wife to Bare Naked Ladies.

"Ride of the Valkyries", loud, just as we make first set. It always sets the mood on the boat and for those around us!

When I grow up I want to be,
One of those harvesters of the sea.
I think before my days are done,
I want to be a fisherman.

The Reelax Crew could do a comedy show when there is a fish on..... Thanks for the reminder of that trip Dave... Make sure to watch to end for the killer spoon!
