Thoughts for Mike Wood

Post by C-Hawk »

My good friend and often fishing partner, Waterbury native and resident, Mike Wood was severely injured in a horrific car -pedestrian accident last Wednesday while crossing the road to go to work on the IBM campus. Mike lies in a comma at Fletcher Allen with a fractured skull and many other broken bones. While Mike is not a forum member, he has been with me on many of my more successful and enjoyable trips. You have seen his pictures on my posts. If you know Mike , (any Waterbury anglers out there ?), give a nod to his family, Marsha and Chris. If you don't please give him a thought. Mike is a one of a kind guy and a great friend of mine whom I only know through fishing and camping. These friendships I have made over the years are truly some of the best I have,as I'm sure you and your fishing buddies can relate to. Don't take them for granted. Jeff. If anyone wants to help the family there is a go-fund page to help with expenses, just send me a PM

I don't know Mike very well, but see him both on the ramp and in the halls at global foundries. He seems to be one of the hardest workers they have on the Flour contract. I have talked fishing a couple of times with him, and he seems like a very dedicated fisherman, I am praying for his recovery. His injuries are major and he needs lots of help right now.thanks for the post Jeff. I was working the morning he was struck and the conditions weren't great with fog. Saw a story on the morning news on it this morning. It's a shame, as he was planning to retire this year from what I have been told.

I hope he recovers well enough to enjoy fishing in his retirement.

So sorry to hear this. I don't know Mike, but I do recognize him as I've seen him around the halls at IBM/GF for many years. My thoughts and prayers are with Mike and his family. I hope he'll be able to get back on the water someday.

I got the call tonite that Mike passed away this afternoon while I was out fishing. He is now at peace and may we all remember his favorite expression about avoiding confrontation, "let it go ".

Sorry to hear of the loss Jeff. The lake has lost another great fisherman...

may his memory live in every fish we catch.
