Westport 11/17

Well, back to Westport yesterday and got the same as last trip - two fish, one of each and neither was a "bragger". Einstein said "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." And to be honest neither was caught in NW Bay, I took a 17&quo...

Re: Last Trip 2015?

Don't feel like you're alone Jim, I seem to be suffering from the same "Law of Diminishing Returns". Two weeks ago out of Westport, we boated 10 fish on 13 releases, one was a 22" salmon, with an 18"er and several 27-29" lakers. Last week it was 7 of 10 with nothing special ...

Re: Software - Which One?

Thanks for the input.

I was leaning toward Navionics, but after researching the issue farther, I found there was a question of compatibility, so I've ended up with Lake Master. I'll let you know how it works out.

Software - Which One?

Opinions please - Navionics or Lake master for my Helix? I've got NOAA charts, know how to use GPS, but looking at what's posted on here and the software websites, there's more on the bottom (topographically) than meets the eye - what have you guys got? And was it/is it worth it? Or should I be happ...

Re: West Port 11-04 & 05 -15

Met you guys launching as we were landing, (17" white/maroon OB) glad you had a good time and nice salmon. As we told you, we did a bunch of C&R lakers Wed morning from 7-9AM, even had a couple doubles in NW Bay, lost one very large salmon on its first leap for freedom - we caught lakers fr...

Westport - Halloween Treat

Picked up one small laker and nothing else. Not marking as many fish as Tuesday - went across to Basin Harbor and set up on the 80 > 1...

Westport 10/22/2015

The weatherman promised????? south switching to SW 10-15, wave <1ft to calm - so, I took my friend Rich fishing - Rich had never fished Lake Champlain before and he was all "fidgety-jiggety" and full of questions on the ride up. Launched at 7, wind was south ~15, with a nice "salmon c...

Ok, now that I have that off my chest, it was cold (especially when I got my hands wet) and windy, Doh!!!!! Picked up 2 small, but keeper, salmon and one nice laker in Cole ...

Westport Weekend

Fished Westport Sat and Sun - Sat, not so good, two lakers in front of Basin Harbor - lent one of my Sunrise Speedy's to guys from Corinth, they got fish on it - I didn't. Sunday early AM was nice, talked w/Mornin' Hooker at the launch - showed him my hot lure (Sunrise Speedy) - he laughed, picked u...

Westport 12/16

Thanks to the info from Surprise and Fishy1 on the launch being accessible, I got out yesterday morning. A little bumpy for me so I stayed in the lee of the south point. Fooled around with some orange and chartreuse Speedy's but nothing - switched to standard blue/white Honeybee and had to beat them...
