Port Henry - 11/3

Don was butchering a deer, Dave was trying out a new boat and Scott was flying back from Chicago after "trick or treating" with his grandson - so I went solo yesterday. Got on the water by 8 and was "lines down" in Fishville by 8:15 - besides being a prospecting trip, I was also ...

Re: Back on the pond. 1st trip of Oct

Hey Matt - good to hear you, the Reelax and the Reelax crew are back on the water - I'm getting the itch again, but I'm gonna try and hold-out until the water temps drop a little or there is better defined thermocline in Fishville - hoping to see you guys soon - fingers crossed for the "Shoot-o...

Hey Fishy - good to hear your voice too!

I'll be on the lake as many days as I can - as always, weather is the deciding factor - hoping the silvers are more cooperative this year -

See you next October

Well guys, today's the day - the Money Pit is going undercover until striper season. As most of you know, we hammered the lakers this year - 200+ and anytime you can go fishing and catch a fish is a good time. Necessity is said to be the "Mother of Invention" - and out of necessity we figu...

Re: Salmon fishery

Guess I'll add my 2 cents - my fishing log reflects what everyone is saying - looking back to 2015 I average 15 Frost Biter trips per year - 2016 was my "best" year - 220 total fish - 115 salmon, 89 lakers, 15 browns and 1 steelhead - those numbers declined to 40 total -22 lakers, 14 salmo...

Re: Port Henry - Jan 01 2021

There is plenty of ice on South Bay - 5" of clear hard w/ a little crust - but, there are NO FISH there - 3 hours not a nibble - surrounded by 22 brother anglers w/80+ tip-ups and not a flag - SB is not on the "go back to" list.

Re: Stackers and Cheaters?

I run 2 riggers and 2 dipsys - tried stacking and didn't have the skills or patience - when the fish are up, the dipsys can be deadly - especially if you learn to use the combinations of disc size and distance back - and when a dipsy rod get "SLAMMED" - there is an instant rush.
