I wouldn't hesitate recommending Simrad for a Chartplotter setup. Either the Go or Cruise series has Plotters to fit your budget. Been using them for years

Salmon at the Grand Isle Hatchery yesterday--videos
VT Fish and Game Grand Isle Hatchery crew doing what they do best. Some magnificent Salmon were trapped and were either returned to the Lake by truck, or retained for eggs and stripped as the run winds down for the season. A big thank you to Kevin Kelsey and his amazing team of dedicated staff. Prio...

Re: Frostbite Derby
Another fun Shootout in the books, and as was previously said, the best part was the apres derby pot luck and trading war stories. Congratulations to Tom Durbrow with his beautiful Salmon and his partner, Fred for landing his twin. Sure wasn't the same without Mattie and Jeff. You were missed. Good ...

Also Prospecting for Salmon Before Shootout
Good chatting with Reelax and comparing notes. Great conditions out of Pt Bay to search for some Salmon with my Shootout crew of Paul (Voyager) and Randy (Surprise). Al (Fishfarmer) will join us Sat. A combination of Riggers, Lead on the Redi Rig and Slide Divers produced about the same results as R...

NOAA Buoy at Schuyler measures Wave Height
Excellent info for realtime broad Lake conditions. A few more of these would really be helpful. From the GLERL Site: "The buoy is located in the middle of the lake near Schuyler Reef, where it will remain until late fall, and is collecting wave height observations that will be used to validate ...

Re: Safety First...and some fun stuff
Bad things can happen very fast on the water and contacting the USCG as fast as possible is essential. Fumbling around with a cell phone to get their number can waste valuable time. Have a VHF Marine Radio, either Handheld or Fixed Mount on the boat to call for assistance on either Channel 09 or 16....

Re: TEAM POINTER ROTARY REPORT
Thanks for the kind words, guys. Tom...A gallant effort by that big fish earned him his release, with a big thank you for playing with us. PB Salmon of 8.64 lbs for my boat came a few years ago during LCI. Brian Pratt caught the beaut with Pat on the team. Pat's been the common denominator, but Kevi...

TEAM POINTER ROTARY REPORT
Team Pointer, consisting of Kevin Collins (Dragonballs), Pat Church (4cs) and me, got together as we have been doing for several years looking for Mr Big. We covered 114 miles in the 3 days of the Rotary, most of which was traveling back & forth to weigh stations! Day 1 we popped a beautiful Sal...
