Re: Western champlain or saint Lawrence?
Coles Creek state park has a nice campground. Easy access for that portion of the river at several nearby launches. Also consider Chippewa bay near the 1000 islands. Walleye and Pike fishing’s good there in June.

Re: Huge Landlock tactics.. Fish411 Mark Romack
The show mentioned in the article that Ron posted the link to ran in early January. I highly recommend watching it if it runs again. The methods they use are very similar to typical Lake Champlain methods. The Fishing 411 crew put together some great programs. I’ve used the mini-Streak lures in gree...

Mallets Bay Shake Down
Hit Malletts Bay on Sunday morning for the first outing of the year. CAS joined me for the shakedown trip. We trolled from Marble Island through the narrows to the outer bay. The wind picked up pretty good at around 10:00 so we deployed Mike's custom trolling bags. They worked like a charm and the b...

Re: Jensen Dodger - world fishing network show 9-24-17
Jim, World Fishing Network has some great shows. Too bad that Comcast in VT does not carry it. Do you know what show you saw? As for Dodgers, my go to set up on lead core is a "000" size Luhr Jenson dodger in chrome with prism tape, 12 to 15 inch leader to a tandem trolling streamer. Works...

I generally use back to back uni knots. This looks even easier.

Re: Is it time for high speed trolling for salmon?
In his classic book on the subject, Streamer Fly Tying & Fishing, Col. Joe Bates discussed trolling streamers for landlocked salmon at speeds of 5 to 7 mph. Now that is fast. It is not a problem with streamers on a sinking fly line or leadcore, but could be tricky with spoons.

Re: Allie's Favorite
I've tried the stick-on eyes and they usually come off after catching a couple of fish. I'll have to try cementing over them. Using uv cement sounds good too.

Re: Allie's Favorite
What do you folks use as a set up when trolling with flies? I have very limited experience with them, but there is a local lake by me that produces nice browns and bows, and from the sounds flies are the ticket trolled. Typically with a small dodger, 000 size. The small echip dodger works fine too....
