That sounds awesome.
Thanks for the thermocline info. I was thinking I might get after the silver from the kayak again soon, but now it sounds like I'll keep after the walleye instead.

Re: First Bite in Weeks
Memories of the one that got away are good ones too! And hopefully they're channeled into motivation to get back out there :) These days I don't mind so much if I lose a fish right at the boat, unless I'm really eager to eat it. "Automatic release!!" But I do remember the heartbreak from c...

Re: shore fishing for lakers and salmon
Nice! I'm glad to hear you encountered some silvers-- that's some inspiration to keep at it. The wind has been hard. I've been mostly skunked so far, both from shore and from the kayak. I did lose a couple fish from the kayak but I don't know what they were. I think my hooks were dull so I replaced ...

Re: March Madness Salmon action
Now you've gone and done it! I can't tell you how many times I've talked myself out of getting it for the kayak. Which would be slightly ridiculous. It might happen yet. But I can't quite fit it in my budget at the moment.

Wow. Nice work! I am so psyched to read this post. You have no idea how much this just elevated my outlook on life
Time to pack up the ice fishing gear and put the kayak back on the car where it belongs. Saturday looks like it could be the day.

Re: Life jacket recommendations
There's a lot of nice gear on the Mustang website. I don't own any of their gear but it comes up a lot when I'm researching, and I like the looks of it. Now I have a craving for marine gloves :D It might be also worth looking into paddling PFDs. They are designed to be worn comfortably without restr...

Re: Liams personal best salmon
Wahoo! Congratulations Liam! Holy cow I misjudged my chosen launch area. I trolled a few circles in the lee of Garden Island but the lee isn’t much help. Played in the big waves in deeper water gor a minute and headed for shore. I used the slide diver but it was not functioning smoothly and neither ...

That sounds like a great tradition! Another awesome report- thank you. Thanks for sharing your speed. I've been pedaling faster than I needed to! I'm gonna launch the yak bright and early tomorrow. I'll probably stick close to Thompson point in anticipation of wind, and call it quits by noon. I'll p...

Hey awesome! I caught one small salmon too! Haha it's also the first I've seen since June. We're closing in on them! It's great to see kids getting into fishing! I was farther south today. Chatted briefly with Chessieman and Surprise. My salmon bit a Crazy Ivan "Raz" about 30' down in 60fo...

Holy cow! that's how its done!
That's a beauty of a salmon too.
Thanks for sharing your numbers and tactics. I sometimes feel like I'm picking up bread crumbs trying to find the way to catch them in my little kayak.

Re: Converse Bay T-Day
Yup that was me! I also got a late start. Haha I wasn't super psyched to get out of bed when I saw the rain on my window at 6am. I forgot my fishfinder battery! Uggh. I was tempted to go home to get it but I fished blind instead. At least it was familiar water. I ran two spoons down 15-25' on a Torp...
