Re: walleyes

I think also the walleye population goes up and down with the smelt population.
I think when theres a high population of smelt they tend to eat alot of the walleye fry
And when the smelt population are down, the walleye numbers increase.
Kind of like partridge and red fox numbers..

Re: manual downriggers

Your right can't find them anymore.
I'm not worried about a drill not not having the power.
I run a 20 volt lithium drill for a ice auger, easily go 2 full days on one battery pan fishing.
Battery technology has come a long way.

Re: walleyes

That's a great video. But just like some one else mentioned, that's a lot of male walleye that were kept. I have a few older friends I fish with, I listen to similar stories of them keeping the limit of everyone they could get in the boat. That was common back then. With the walleye coming back hope...

Re: How is the bass bite?

Sounds like you did well.
That's great.
I'm no expert but my experience in fall bass fishing is that they tend to school up and start feeding heavy in shallow flats. 10-20 FOW.
Also I've noticed if you find them this year they'll right back they're next year, and the year after.

Re: How is the bass bite?

They're starting their fall routine. It was good last weekend in North hero.
Best baits that worked for me were super flukes.
