Re: HOT on the broad lake
Nice! I went out Saturday at Cowbanks, 5:30 AM until 10AM fished the trench west side of Cedar and went 5/5 on shaker salmon, all hit silver/pink spoon on 5-6 colors of lead core, no fleas and minor grass. Not a single fish off the downrigger, 72F surface, 2.45-2.70MPH Got off the water before the z...

Re: Fleas!
Yes indeed! The mono I was using is 15#, thought it would be good to go but the fleas are thick.
Fleas and extreme low water near launch and I guess I'll be heading to other spots from this point forward.

Re: BOOM.... We found the Plug!
Saw what looked similar on my Garmin on Saturday in Shelburne bay in several locations, 30-50 foot depth & thought it was large boulders...

Fleas!

Re: Extremely Low Lake Level
Yes indeed, and with westerly prevailing winds at both Vantine's & Van Everest you'd think they'd understand this is important enough to put docks in.digitroll (ron) wrote:Same with Georgia access.. All rocks!

Re: Extremely Low Lake Level
Wish that launch they'd put in a floating dock, it's a hard one to deal with going solo with prevailing winds pushing the hull right back up on the concrete...ugh!digitroll (ron) wrote:My first time launching at Van Tines today in 10 years. Plenty of water.

Re: New boat
Wow, bet it literally flies...if it has a prop.
Probably would sink at the launch with that motor being a black anchor though...
Think the driver needs help, looks a little bony.

Re: Finding salmon
Agree, you don't need to invest in a 2nd mortgage to enjoy cold water trolling...I for one have a simple very old 14' aluminum with a 2-stroke equipped with a trolling motor and 1 manual downrigger setup for 2 poles and use the other side with a lead core rig & can run a dipsy too so 4 lines out...
