Re: Flasher Fly / Anchovy Head
I thought I would give an update on Saturday soaking a Flasher Fly and Flasher Anchovy program on Port side and a spoon program on the Starboad side for 4 hours… I thing the experiment was conclusive. Flasher 0 / Spoon 7 salmons… flashers no more… 😂 Fished the last hour on a spoon only program and m...

Re: Converse Nov 12
Hi Ed: I can give you a couple pointers. Go with the wind and find the warmest surface water you can find. Fast troll with tiny silver spoons were productive. Salmons seams to be everywhere the water is the warmest. Find bait balls and stay with the ball. Set your lures 10-20 feet above the bait. I ...

Converse Nov 12
Good but slow day on the water. Picked-up fishermen I met on this site, and headed to Converse. Boat on the water at 8:30am. Found the right water temperature and bait balls at 9am, and got out of the water at 2pm. 7 Salmons and 15-20 Lakers (lost count) were caught and the majority released in grea...

Flasher Fly / Anchovy Head
Question: Anybody use flasher fly or flasher Anchovy head on Lake Champlain? Flasher Anchovy head with a brined small anchovy is my go to rig on Lake Ontario; catching most of my kings and all my Atlantics. I stayed with small spoons on Champlain, but Anybody uses flasher fly or flasher anchovy head...

Re: Smart Troll System to track Divers.
Next year I need to put this event on my bucket list.. Main reason would be to meet great peoples in person.
However, if I had been in the tournament; I probably would not have caught those nice salmons…

Re: Smart Troll System to track Divers.
Fished the NY side today. Slow start, lines were down at 10:30am… The small family I took on my boat today landed 4 Salmons, 14 Lakers and a small mouth bass. The majority of fishes were released at the boat. One of the salmon was chunky at 24 inches. Lakers were small (approx. 2 to 5 pounds). I sto...

Re: Smart Troll System to track Divers.
I would say that technology has played a big role in the fishing consistency. But no comparison ton Ron… I need a 8-10 rods spread to achieve these numbers and I struggle at catching salmons on Champlain. I have had trips catching 20+ lakers at 2.5mph and up… I must be doing something wrong or I nee...

Re: Time for Smart Troll to track divers!
Ron, you have a fantastic setup👌 I love to watch your videos! I have not yet mastered Catching Atlantics with consistency on the Champlain. Caught more Atlantics on Lake Ontario than Champlain this year.😕 My Smart Troll probes are set above the slide diver and slides with the slider. Hope not to loo...

Re: Time for Smart Troll to track divers!
I have both systems on my boat. X4D on right rigger and smart troll on right divers and right coppers. No more guessing while fishing… Using line counter reels and slide divers. Port Side: The X4D is telling me not only speed and temps, it gives me current directions. Salmons faces current above the...

Re: Easter Fishing
I usually launch from Port Douglas, and for some reason rarely see other boats where I fish? Was thinking of launching at Converse next trip. Been catching high numbers of Lakers, some Stealheads, but Salmons do not like my red boat!😂 I regularly have empty seats and plenty of space if someone wants...
