Found some salmon up North!
Caught 2 keeper salmon and a big pike after I decided to take off work a few hrs early. Had the 2 salmon on at the same time - one on leadcore with 1 1/2 colors and one hit cheater on downrigger with lower line at 18’. Was in 70’ of water turning back to shallower when pike hit same cheater so that ...

Re: Lots of Lakers off colchester point!
I was where you were last weekend and didn’t have much luck, but was in deeper water. My boat is on a dock in the bay and too tall to get under the bridge, so it’s either a haul up through the gut or I pull it and launch up there. Either way I don’t fish the IS more than 1-2 times per year. I keep h...

Re: Lots of Lakers off colchester point!
Striper, I found one in the Outer last week, fairly excited as it was the first in years for me between these large white walls! Where were you and how deep? We missed a big salmon last week off the inside tressle trolling south moving from 20 to 30 FOW off a downrigger at 12’. Usually later in the...

Lots of Lakers off colchester point!
I was with my friend Tim and we were trolling faster for salmon and still kept getting Lakers! 3 off planar board flatlines and 1 off leadcore 1.5 colors out. Not one hit off downriggers. Everything came in 8-18 FOW. 46 degrees surface temp out there and super fun South 15 knot chop. 3 of the 4 were...

Re: Where to go? Headed out tomorrow mallets bay / outer bay
Went out and trolled 8:15am - 3:15pm. Tried mouth of mallets bay to Lamoile up to Robinson point and across tressle on inside outer bay side. Had huge salmon on there in about 30 FOW hit spoon on downrigger at 16’. Lost him with a head shake jump. Trolled through the cut along broad lake side of tre...

Where to go? Headed out tomorrow mallets bay / outer bay
Finally got Big Bear on the dock. Heading out tomorrow am, not sure where to try for salmon in the Malletts Bay area. Surface temps from the launch over to the dock were 47-48 degrees. Was going to try over by Malletts bay creek or maybe outer bay by the Lamoille. Can’t fit under the sandbar bridge ...

9/9 Colchester Reef
Got out at the crack of noon Went 9 for 10. 8 lakers and a pretty big smallmouth that hit at 78’ in 130 FOW. Had hits all over the place on cheaters at 45’ and all the way down to 90’ on downrigger ball. Fished 100-180 FOW.

Re: Replay of last week in the inland sea
Is was great to finally see you and your boat on the water, Matt! Looks like we needed to get there 2 hrs earlier… Even 60-80’ we were still catching white perch and even a bass or 2 as well as some yellow perch which is all we caught above 60’. Saw all the salmon there you did and tried all colors ...

Re: Ideas for what in the IS tomorrow?
Looks like I need to make a trip to the inland sea based on all the reports. I can’t make it under the bridge so I’ll be going the long way around through the gut from Mallets Bay, been a long time since I’ve been up there. Does anyone have any pointers on where I should fish for salmon? Funny that...

If you go for a week likely to get 1-2 offshore days. Last year we got 1 day, year before 2 days. This year could have gone a 3rd day but we were tired

Re: Great fishing off OOB
Reds and Whiting are excellent eats, I am jealous! I have wanted to bring my boat down for some years but know if I did there would be gale force winds complete with water spouts  Yes we caught a lot of them. They were everywhere, over a dozen keeper red fish and 1 was almost 15” which is huge...
