Re: frostbite shore fishing for lakers updated 10/31/2017
next - I plan to get one on a fly. Been wanting to do that for some time now. I've tied these up hoping they'd work. From some of the stuff I've seen on youtube the rabbit fur flies seem to work well. if any one would care to share if they are using float, sink tip or full sink line I'd be intereste...

Re: frostbite shore fishing for lakers updated 10/31/2017
Finally! landed one from shore this morning. I saw a couple bust the surface. When I saw the second one I cast out a good ole' Fishy1 Honey Bee in that area and let it sink to the bottom. This one hit after a couple of retrieves off the bottom. Pretty light strike. Fishy1 is such a great lure. Thank...

Re: Hatchery brook 10/13
Hi all, as I am fairly new to the Salmon here in Lake Champlain (but not new to Lake Champlain) I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on Hatchery Brook. Is this a brook in Vt? Is it part of the hatchery program there? Reason I ask - I just got back from a fish trip in Altmar, NY for monster Chi...

Hey Matt, finally picked up a Laker from shore. I'm just starting to see them come in close now. Saw a big one surface the other day and picked up a husky 33" this morning. It hit like, as you say, a freight train and made a couple of real good runs. Got em' on a silver croc. Again - another be...

Re: 8lb plus salmon
Well I finally landed my first Silver of the year. Was dreamin' about it all Winter! Got it in the river. Its not a monster but it was clean as a whistle, not a mark on it - very, very encouraging. I cant say enough good things about the lamprey control program and how it is impacting this great fis...

Re: frostbite shore fishing for lakers updated 10/29/2016
here I thought they weren't around but I should know better - x2 nice lakers this morning in the 20-22" range. Fat, happy and healthy fish. got them both on a Kroc with the blue scale pattern worn off. so essentially a silver Kroc. single hook. I missed a couple of strikes and had some bumps. N...

went out to the usual spot on the Lake yesterday with no takers. Fished a little this morning and had a monster follow the lure in but got spooked when it saw me. Dang! Must have been at least 30" ! next time !!

Re: frostbite shore fishing for lakers updated 10/29/2016
Hey fishy1.... I went to the shore this morning and that one spot is fairly access able however, you are right - its a bit slippery in spots. It would prove to be a challenge to land anything. I gave a few casts before work but no takers. I lost my Krocadile trout pattern last week so I had to go to...
