Re: Port Henry - 11/21

Thanks for the report, CM. We fished PH Wednesday, and I mistakenly posted the report under “Tactics.” Congrats on the good day!

Re: Port Henry

Whoops, wrong date. 11-20-19 would be correct.

Port Henry

Trusty and hardy partner, Stan, and I launched in light snow at Port Henry yesterday, 11-21-19. We found the ramp in good shape, though no docks. Proceeding north on the NY side, we occasionally charted bait, with most schools occurring at around 20 feet. Oddly, though we set our downriggers at dept...

Re: Crazy Ivan your 2019 Shoot Out Winner

Congrats to You, Crazy Ivan, on your fine Salmon and your win in the Frostbite. I haven’t fished the big lake for a couple of years because my usual partners have pretty much retired from cold weather fishing. However, I’ve recently discovered an equally enthusiastic potential buddy. (I’m looking at...

Re: Port Henry

I want to thank Hairbone and Crazy Ivan for the solid advice they sent along just prior to our Monday morning trip. I took two LC rookies out, just hoping we could tangle with a salmon or maybe two. We wound up having an excellent day (by my standards, anyway), boating five salmon and losing another...

Re: Port Henry

Went 8 for 9 all salmon. There were small fish in the channel at Bullwagga early. 1 rigger spoon, 1 stick on a planner board and a spoon on a mini dipsy. We ended up driving up to westport and water was cold at 40.5 Took a break for lunch and back south and set up south of the green can. Noticeable...

Re: Lazy fisherman

Grrrr....Several years ago, I found where someone had dumped his trash near the water. I checked the bags for content and found that the creep had disposed of some of his mail along with his garbage. Took the whole package to the local ranger, who proceeded to get a collar. Very satisfying. Unfortun...

I like the cut of this guy's jib. Good job, Kayak. A most impressive accomplishment.

Wow, that is one fine salmon, Captain. Your clients must have been thrilled. Tomorrow and Tuesday, we'll be trying some of the pointers we learned from you last December.

Junkie, your English is fine. It's a lot better than my French, too. I wish you tight lines. Let us hear how you do. Where will you launch?

Re: Attention Frostbiters

Good job working with the seniors, Homewrecker. Your chowder sounds great, by the way. Alligator? For real? Also, I'm impressed that you know how to make an "n" with a squiggle over it. Very authentic. :)
