Re: frostbite shore fishing for lakers updated 10/29/2016
Made a quick trip up to PBG 5/25-26. Didn't have much time to fish but, finished up about 530pm on Thursday eve, and headed to PTK. Rainy but not much wind. Fished for about an hour and started with a 3/4oz blade bait, but no takers. Blade baits are killers on Cayuga lake, sometimes the only thing t...

Re: fishing for salmon and browns updated 2/28/2017
Late report. Not browns or salmon but was in the PBG area last Sunday. Found some time to take a few casts at the PTK ferry docks around 1 pm. Wind was roaring from the South so casting was tough with a ton of line belly. Tried a suspending jerk bait, no luck. Put on a 3/8 jig with a swim tail, abou...

Re: frostbite shore fishing for lakers 11/4/2015
Thanks for the info Fishy. It sounds very encouraging and look forward to exploring the possibilities. Port Kent looks like one of the toughest areas of the lake to fish. Wide and Windy. In order to feel safe, I may have to buy a bigger boat, too.

Re: frostbite shore fishing for lakers 11/4/2015
I'm new to the board and found this thread interesting. We recently purchased a property near Port Kent, and was wondering if there is any shore fishing in that area. Looks like the lake gets deep pretty quickly south of the ferry. Don't want your hot spots, just seeing "what if?". The lak...
