What is everyone using for a diver rod? Looking for something that isn't too expensive AND isn't a pool cue.
Thanks.

Re: Leadcore setup
I use 7 colors of Tuff Line Microleadcore (15 pound test), backed with a reel full of 20 pound Ande mono. 30 feet of 10 pound Seaguar fluorocarbon for leader. If I have to go more than 7 colors I'm switching to divers/riggers. I put the remaining 3 colors on another reel set up the same way for earl...

Re: Season Of Lost Treasures
I lost 2 planer boards this season and both were returned as I had my name and number on them. Lot of good people out there so hopefully your's will be back.

Re: Interesting story from Maine....
Maine has a couple of weird fish and game rules. One for example, is, you are required to kill every Northern Pike you catch. They say they are an invasive species to the state. From what I've read, you probably won't get into trouble for releasing one, but, they'd rather you killed them all. I mys...

Re: Northeast troller spoons aka Carlson spoons
Christian is a great guy and treats his customers very well. They have a loyal, and often fanatical, following here in Maine, much like the DB Smelt.
They work well on lakes that have an alewife forage base. Not as well, for me, on a smelt based.

That is good to know and I was wondering when the new shows would be on Carbon TV. I like his show and they have an interesting perspective on trolling.

Re: Huge Landlock tactics.. Fish411 Mark Romack
Several years ago I went whole hog and bought into the "Great Lakes" methodology for where I fish. I bought a pile of Silver Streak mini streaks, Michigan Stingers, and Northern King lures in colors that closely matched what I was using on my home waters (and some that were not so close). ...

Very nice.
May I ask the cost? I caught and released one that size (29x18) here this past spring and looking at having a replica done. Prices are all over the place.

Re: Reel for Slide Diver Lite Bite?
I apparently spoke too soon about the Magda. Something let go internally this weekend and had to handline 180 feet of braid. Can't spin the handle, spool won't turn, drag locked down. Happened on a hit of a fish which I also lost. Haven't a chance to take it apart yet but Tuna Toms may be getting an...

Re: Reel for Slide Diver Lite Bite?
Like most, I came to the conclusion that it is far easier to find an inexpensive decent rod than an inexpensive decent reel. I've had the Magda for 5 to 6 years now and used it with the slide diver for 2. I can see the clicker wearing out but so far it has held up. The line counter works, the drag i...
